Tips:
The self-discharge of Li-ion is reasonably steady throughout the service life and does not increase noticeably with age, unless there is a cell anomaly caused by separator damage when microscopic metal particles group together. Improved manufacturing methods have minimized this problem on newer batteries.Table 8 reveals the self-discharge rate per month at various temperatures and state-of-charge conditions.

HP HSTNN-LB2G battery info:

Battery Type:  Li-ion
Voltage:  10.8V or 11.1V or 11.25V
Capacity: 62Wh / 6Cell
Weight:  349g
Size: 205.11 x 46.11 x 20.11 mm
Color: Black

Full charge capacity: The battery's current fully charged capacity. In some batteries it is possible to compare this value to the designed capacity to estimate the battery's wear.

Alert levels: The manufacturer's suggestion of when a "Low" and "Warning" battery alert should occur.
Bias: Some batteries reserve a small charge that is biased out of the battery's Full Charge Capacity and Current Capacity values to show "0" as the critical battery level. Critical bias is analogous to setting a fuel gauge to show "empty" when there are several liters of fuel left.

Use foam lining to protect the notebooks.
Ensure the notebooks are off before charging (it is often useful to position them so that you can see the charge light and power light - this also allows you to check that they have been fully charged the next day).

Use tie-straps and self-adhesive pads to secure the mains cables into the correct positions so that the AC adaptors can only be positioned in the correct place (usually at the back of the cabinet next to the ventilation holes). Do not allow the AC adaptors to be placed under the notebooks.

During an inactive period, writes are the only kind of disk I/O we can hold off. We can keep the unwritten data in memory for as long as we like or until we're out of memory. Unfortunately, this was not so easy for us to implement, because Linux submits write requests from many places. We needed to tweak all those places to hold off their writes.

Automakers want to ensure that no driver gets stuck in traffic with a dead battery. To conserve energy, modern cars automatically turn off unnecessary accessories when the battery is low and the motor stays running at a stoplight. Even with this measure, state-of-charge can remain low if commuting in gridlock conditions because motor idling does not provide much charge to the battery, and with essential accessories like lights and windshield wipers on, the net effect could be a small discharge.

Everyone wants to keep the HP HSTNN-I91C battery as long as possible and use it in a way that is least stressful. This is not always feasible. Sometimes we need to run the battery in environments that are not conducive to optimal service life. As a doctor cannot predict how long a person will live based on diet and activity alone, so also does the life of a battery vary, and it can always be cut short by an unexpected failure. Batteries and humans share the same volatility.
